Student Art Show

So my student art show is coming up and before I print, I must show them to my professor before I go through the printing process. One of my works is calligraphy, then my greeting cards, my paper egg thing, and my directions poster or Lego stop-camera animation. I think that is pretty sound. So here is the preview of my cards:

I am so glad that I have followers! I am sure I am keeping you all entertained =)
Well now I have a new project to display. I have recreated Lego instructions, and my professor suggessted that I do extra credit just to strengthen my portfolio. Well, I animated mine using stop camera animation. Enjoy!

My Mentor

So I was on a mission to find a mentor, and I was pretty much just asking random people. Well, that is the way I interpreted it as. So, I just remembered for the past two Otakon Conventions I was on the Con Coverage team. So I asked the person who was in charge of us. She has also given me some things to think about when coming up with my final video project and making a story for my cinematography class. So I feel it is a done deal.

Greeting Cards

For my assignment m goal was to create a greeting card. When I first approached this I was doing multiple cards with different meanings. For example, I would have one birthday card, one holiday card, and one thinking of you card. So I came up with thinking of you cards.

My final one was the bunny and the umbrella. After that I animated it to an e-greeting card. This is the final result

Redskins New Name?

So I have read several articles on the issue of the team name Redskins. So what exactly is a Redskin? Well according to Wikipedia "Redskin" is a racial descriptor for Native Americans and one of the color metaphors for race used in North America and Europe since European colonization of America. So how do I feel on this issue? I think that it can go both ways. It has been around for ever and I haven't heard about many people speaking up about it. So I actually have no feelings on this one. I am trying to look at it from both ways but I just don't see it. I guess that I do not feel bad about it because I had always thought of the term "Redskin" as a team name and not a racial term. I am not a horrible person because I do not feel bad I just don't care.

The assignment is to redo the team Redskin's name and mascot. So I went through generators to cheat but then I thought about it. What represents Maryland? We have Orioles, Ravens, Capitals, Wizards... I wanted to use a bird like a native bird to the state but there are so many. Goshowks sounded cool but at the same time it could be misinterpreted as the Philly Eagles. So I stayed away from birds. With the power of Google I found a Hellbender. Sounds cool, don't it? A Hellbender is large salamander or a reckless/ head strong  person. I am not bashing any social groups, or races. That is why my mother raised us on animals instead of Barbie... but that is another story. Without futher ado my Redskin Design.
